Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Sunday lost 1-0 to Ghana Black Queens in the penultimate 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, AWCON qualifying race in Accra but went through to the final round despite the setback

The nine-time champions fought a tough battle to edge out Ghana’s Black Queens and reach the final round of the qualification series for next year’s AWCON to be hosted by Morocco.

A lone goal defeat in Accra on Sunday evening meant the nine-time African champions survived with a 2-1 aggregate win over their hosts.

The Falcons progressed to the final round where they play the Lady Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire, in February 2022.
