Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Saturday, May 11, 2019 recorded their biggest victory ever in a match when they defeated Niger Republic 15-0 in the second game at the ongoing West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup tournament at the Parc Des Sports Stadium, Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

With this win, the African champions have now secured passage to the semi-finals of the sub-regional competition. The Super Falcons would now face the Malian team on Monday for a spot in the final of the competition.

Earlier, the Super Falcons defeated Burkina Faso 5-1 in their opening Game in the competition on Thursday 9, 2019.

This competition has eight (8) West African teams in participation and they are: Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Niger Republic, Nigeria, Senegal, and Togo.

The competition serves as the final preparation for the Falcons ahead of the FIFA Women World Cup, in France from June 7 to July 7, 2019.

At the World Cup, the African champions will play against Norway in Reims on June 8, take on Korea Republic in Grenoble on June 12 and play against host Nation France in Rennes on June 17, 2019.
